Thom’s passion for Chinese medicine started after acupuncture and herbs turned his health around. He had seen multiple Western doctors for his digestive problems, which were easily diagnosed but not so easily treated. Within months of seeing an acupuncturist and taking Chinese herbs, however, his health improved dramatically, and he had started on the path to a new career.

In more than eight years of private practice, Thom has successfully treated patients with acute and chronic pain, sinus and nasal congestion, menstrual irregularities, digestive disorders, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and illnesses subsequent to cancer treatment. He specializes in the treatment of sciatica and back pain, as well as insulin resistance and the effects of type 2 diabetes.

Thom is an avid gardener and traditional diet enthusiast who enjoys cooking bone broth and making fermented beverages in his spare time. He graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Illinois. He is nationally certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbalism by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
